About

HELLO FRIENDS!

Thanks for stopping by!

I am a craft savvy lady currently residing in the windy city. I am just a regular gal who like to sew and be creative.

I am a self-taught craftswoman and I like to use as much repurposed material as possible. Most of what I’ve taught myself to make began with the idea of “I want or need …  a new dress, a ebook cover, gloves, a sweater, a coat, a purse but either couldn’t afford it or didn’t like what I could afford. Therefore I bought materials used usually from the gem mines (thrift stores) or worked with what I had to make what I wanted or needed. I mean it’s a great concept really not only did I get what I wanted I learned a new skill and I could feel proud that I had made it and no one else would have one like it. Other people started to notice the nice things I had made  and asked where they themselves could get one. This gave me the confidence to want to start my own business but really even though it’s a wonderful goal, I have no idea where to even begin.

I know there are lots of people in the same boat as me who have great artistic skills but who don’t really know how to turn that into a viable fiscal source and not to assume that all artist what to do this, but I do so long as it’s in an ethical manner.

Even though I live in the 21st century brimming with technological advancements, my personal style has always been old school. I still read and buy atcual books, I rather call someone then send a text and I don’t do or even really understand this whole tweeting phenomenon. (Seriously I just got my first smart phone five months ago.) You would think I had some excuse like my generation didn’t grow up with this technology but not really, I am twenty seven. I am just extremely hands on and into tangible things. I am much better with scissors and glue then with a computer but I am willing to give it my best effort.

This blog is meant to be a personal experiment of a real time progress report of how I started with an idea and turned it into a reality. I am hoping to use this blog as an art chronicle as well as an out reach for an artistic community I know it out there yet haven’t tapped into. By using the internet which is now this massive brain of the global community I want you to take this journey with me and to be there to guide me if I get stuck on the way. Hopefully one day when I reach my goals this can serve as a road map for others, they can use my strife to help forge their own path.

I look forward to proving to my self that I can do this and to making the world a better place through art.

PLEASE COME ALONG!
